Follow Up...Chris Messed Up

Turns out the rumors were true, Chris Brown really did hurt Rihanna, he hurt her badly. TMZ released photos of her after the alleged beating and its not looking pretty. But, good news is Rihanna is staying strong. Today she released a statement saying she was so thankful for all the support from her fans, and is doing well. How well could she possibly be doing after her boyfriend hit her? Not sure, but thankfully she is remaining positive!

Is Chris Guilty?

Last night at the 51st Annual Grammy's Award Show, Chris Brown was absent from his performance, and his girlfriend Rihanna's performance was also cancelled. What happened? It was a rare occasion that both would cancel their scheduled performances, for they are reliable singers and performers who have dedicated fans for multiple reasons.

The young star Chris is being investigated for felony domestic battery, after turning himself in on Sunday due to making a criminal threat. Is it possible that the all too perfect Chris Brown is guilty of something as disgraceful as domestic violence? Certain "insiders" are suspicious that the victim in this case is his girlfriend and fellow music super star Rihanna. They say Rihanna made the 911 call to police saying she had been attacked. However, when her PR agent was asked why she was unable to attend the Grammy's, she responded that Rihanna had been involved in a "traffic mishap". If this were to be true, and Chris really did assault Rihanna, would he lose his dedicated fans? Well, I am sure of this, he is a talented singer and dancer, and of course people make mistakes. Do we know the reason any of this happened? Well, not yet, in fact, we probably will never know what actually happened.

I guess Rihanna really was right...

I should've never let you enter my door"

What is saying too much?

What is saying too much? It is stated in our Bill of Rights that we as American citizens have the freedom of speech, to say what we feel, discuss any matter of interest without government interference. Why then, is a senior at Lewis S. Mills High School being punished for referring to a teacher at her high school as a "douche bag", if she was merely speaking on an opinion basis? Her reference to this teacher was posted on her blog, and unfortunately school officials doing a "random" internet search came across it. The senior was running for reelection in the spring, but she was barred from being reelected and unable to speak at her graduation.

Whether she was triggered by a past event that gave her uneasy feelings about this teacher, or she just had a strong opinion and wanted to voice it, the fact is that she said it. Were her choice of words too inappropriate for a student to say? I think it is important for students to have opinions about their teachers, and able to voice it in an appropriate manner. She posted her opinion on her own blog, where no body who did not search to see would be able to. On the matter of being removed from her student government position, and not being able to speak at graduation, I am not sure that was the right punishment. So...I am posing this question, what is saying too much?

Overloaded Student.

Attending Temple University is a golden opportunity that only so many individuals have, and I am so happy to say I am one of them. Unfortunately, by accepting this opportunity at attending such a diverse and respected university, you also take on the unthinkable amount of schoolwork professors pour onto you. Why, Why, Why?

I know I am not the only college student who is overwhelmed with paper, research, readings, etc. Of course, I am interested in what I am learning (at least now I am), but when is this going to cease! I don't think this process of do do do read read read will stop...but...can we as students get some respect! If only our parents knew how much readings and papers and thought our days are consumed of...

That's all for now. Good luck fellow students.
